Bah humbug I think I got the flu.

So the diet is still going well but now I am 'as sick as a dog' or whatever the expression is. I never really understood that expression...anyway it sucks. It has made sure that anything I have tried to take in today (revision wise) can't stay in my brain. It is almost as though there is a tiny baseball player hitting home runs as he knocks all the balls out of my brain...not good preparation for the exam tomorrow :( but I am too exhausted and too sick to be able to do anymore so we shall see how it goes. Supposedly you are supposed to 'not revise' because it is assessing your real level of French so maybe it's good that I haven't done a lot. I say that and I have still done three hours but like I said little man....home runs...not retained a lot. Hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling better. We also have loads more snow...pretty much snowed all day so that's just perfect for my illness...

Couldn't do my exercises today either because everytime I even moved from my bed I felt dizzy and a little like I might pass out. So hopefully will be able to attempt them tomorrow if I am feeling better. Fingers crossed! Anyway let's end this miserable blog because when I'm ill I am always a bit of a misery guts so I don't want to inflict it on you lovely people anymore. Good night/Bonne nuit x

Day 4 in the Big Diet House

This diet is going surprisingly well...I even managed to only have one of the delicious cupcakes I made for Tiina's birthday today - at a price though (93 kcal a pop). I am actually starting to feel really good and I also managed to score an 81/104 on my French test from a few weeks ago so I am très happy.

The only downside is the pain in my back I get from exercising...no idea why and have been trying to do back crunches as recommended by Force fitness but it isn't helping a lot :( Dan I know you read this so...help! Also Dan while you are reading this when I do press ups (modified - wish I could do real ones but not strong enough, some day lol) some muscle somewhere near my shoulder - note how amazing my body anatomy descriptions are - actually feels like it's going to snap, how do I stop this please as I enjoy press ups muchly. And don't you dare recommend a sports massage I nearly died of pain last time! Haha.

Had a funny encounter today where an English girl who was arrogant as hell decided to walk up to the counter in Starbucks and started complaining at the top of her voice IN ENGLISH about how her coffee was cold. The poor guy just stared at her blankly and said in French that he didn't speak any english. I felt sorry for him and also thought my hair might set on fire if this girl carried on breathing any more fire down this poor guy's neck so I intervened. I first asked her a) Do you speak any French? To which she typically replied "No I am on holiday I don't need French for that" and b) What's wrong with your coffee you stupid rude cow? Not quite like that but along those lines. I then translated for the guy and ended having quite good banter with him as he was slating her to Brazil and back and I agreed "Le café est ne pas froid et oui elle est une fille difficile" to which he replied "elle est fou" literally she is a mad person who belongs in a mad house. During all this she stood there looking blank and una
ware of anything we were saying at all, I hope she felt stupid because she deserved to. Anyway I got an extra big demi-creme latte even though I only paid for a tall size and made a new friend in Starbucks while the arrogant girl was still waiting for her coffee. As if she thought he was going to make it for her after she had been so rude, I literally walked away smiling with "bon journée" ringing in my ears. Sometimes it really does pay off to learn a language and it's so rewarding when you are the other side of the card.

Diet day four - people don't freak out I am eating a good amount of protein/fat/carbohydrates etc but when you input a miscellaneous food it only enters calories so never fear I am not starving myself lol. Peace up A town, dooo dooo do.

Oh na na what's my name?

So the diet is going surprisingly well although I realised I wanted to lose a stone before April so I change it to February of next year and it has reduced my calorie in-take (like I needed to be more hungry ha.) But actually it's okay...yesterday was hard and I felt like I ate a bit rubbishy because I had some cheese so this morning I have just done a 10 minute swimsuit bootcamp to burn 114 calories (just so I feel a bit better and I do :) although rather sweaty now!) If anyone wants to see these exercises they are really good and there are slightly easier ones than this as this is part of a 7 day workout. The link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eOdcFVrFSw
So now I feel a bit better about my calorie intake yesterday, not that it was bad but it was much less on Friday plus I did lots of workouts so I had to burnnn lol. Slightly worried about today though as we are going to a brunch before the theatre with the kids and unless you are massively obese when you tell people you are dieting they can't understand and try to force food down your neck. This is what I worry about, not that my family would ever do that because they are far too nice but the last thing I want is them worrying about me losing weight. I have decided to have a bowl of cereal and some fruit before we go so I can say "I'm okay I'm not hungry" - always does the trick.

Yesterday me and Noah built a snowman - un bonhomme de neige en Français and I am pleased to say it is still standing even though most of the snow has disappeared overnight. I will post a few pictures so you can all see...S and I watched a movie last night while most people went out, we are both saving for our sister's to come over and go to disneyland (as well as affording xmas presents!) It was nice to spend an evening with her though as she leaves at xmas we don't have many left...

What's that Christmas saying hmmm....oh I don't know but tidings of great joy anyway, hope everyone is looking forward to the holidays as much as I am :)

Oh and p.s. for all people following my diet, here is yesterday's result...

Oh diet, why can't I be naturally a stick.

So first day and I am doing pretty well...I am under target for calories and I burnt off 70 calories doing 20 minutes of kickboxing and my muscle stretching. I am however bloody hungry but guess that is always the way on the first day...oh beautiful Christmas dress please make this worth it...! If anyone is interested the programme I use is Sparkpeople, it's free and amazing for dieting and exercising. Good luck weight losers!
